Recently we have started purchasing these units. This particular machine is made by Jakar from Poland, distributed in the US by PrimeTime Amusements.

So far haven't had any problems with this machine. Setting pricing isn't very good - we wanted to set it for 3 plays for $2, but won't allow 3 plays for 2 x $1 coin, only 3 plays for $2 coin.

Also, many players can beat or exceed the maximum score of 999.

We chose this particular model because it allows player to enter their initials.

Fixed this by increasing STRENGTH setting from 100% to 105%

First problem, after one month. The bag is held in place with a threaded shaft, goes through a plate on the swing arm, adjust and held in place with a locknut on either side of this plate.

Lock nuts come loose, bag begins to drop a bit, vibration buggers the threads of the shaft. Lock nuts are crap and I can no longer tighten them up. So I must force the nuts off, run a die oover the threaded shaft and replace the nuts. Also installed two flat and two lock washer. Discovered the hard way that shaft and nuts AREN'T SAE. Made in Poland, I finally figure out they are METRIC. 12mm 1.75 pitch I believe.

Other issues with this machine:
1) there is an air bladder in the punching bag that should be topped up
at every cashout. Under the strings is a rubber valve, use a pump made for basketballs, etc.
2) we had to set Strength up to max 110% otherwise players were consistently racking up scores of 999
3) on some new machines, the electronic coin mechs refused to accept coin. I ended up cutting the Inhibit wire (pin 6) to the coin mech to get them to work.
4) replace locknuts holding bag on with two quality locknuts and two flatwashers
5) cashbox too small. We found if you cut the handles off a standard plastic cashbox found in a Golden Tee, etc. it will just fit into cashbin area, and hold twice as much coin
6) lamps for start button, left and right buttons burning out quickly. Newer machines are shipping with LED lamps in these buttons.

We now have had a number of these machines, the players are knocking the bag RIGHT OFF THE MACHINE.

The bolt that anchors the bag to the machine, is molded into a rubber cone inside the top of the bag. This bolt is pulling out of the rubber cone, and the entire bag will come flying off the machine. Some machines with this problem happened within a matter of days of being on location.

Picture of this bolt below. Notice only about 1.5" of bolt actually extend into rubber cone.

Here is my quick-fix. Drill a 1/2" hole all the way through the cone, and install a 1/2" x 8" carriage bolt up through the bottom. Make sure you put the piece of foam back on that protects the air bladder from the cone (glued to bottom of cone)

Ones I have are "Dragon Punch". Seems the only problem so far is a microswitch in the top that hits a cam pin when the punch bag is lowered telling the game it is ready to be punched. Need to take the top cover off to get to it.

Majority of ours are the Primetime Dot Matrix model... and the optical sensor for the position of the bag are constantly failing.

I think we have a few of these, or knockoff's that look identical. Only problem I have had is the main board/display board breaks loose because the fiberglass it is mounted to is so thin. I believe I ended up drilling a hole right through the plexi that covers the front, and put in 4 carriage bolts, mounted the board to that.

Thanks.
I see these are marketed with all different graphics and color options but all the same machines.
Vending times magazine shows them at $2995.00 in this months issue.

I have 5 of the Klakomat "Glove" Boxers. Oldest is 3 yrs old. VERY few problems, Had a bolt break that I replaced with a higher quality. Had a P/S short out because the location owner decided to move it on his own, spilling all of the coins inside. Other than that, very happy with them. Made to have 2 bill acceptors if you want. (Or use a LARGE bill cassette) However, they are around $5 with shipping and taxs. Dean

I have one of the good old Zamperla KO boxers, no problems with it ever. It is loud and noisey and breaks hands if hit too high, but it is realistic/accurate with regards to the mechanical pointer and a persons impact upon it.(circa 1980)

I am putting out my first (2006 model) Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login Login or Register Register!!
boxer model tonight.  I picked it up with the electronics missing, searched for a used older set only to hear nightmare stories about early board failures/parts falling off.  I ordered a new board and power supply set and got it up and running for ~1k$. ouch.  Noted that the opto sensor for the bag drop/hit speed had been damaged, 1 leg pulled from the solder- when this happens it reads err on the display in the bag drop test.  Resolder and silicone case to fix.

Now to figure out how to wire in the chase led lights which evidentally are an option no longer supported.  They are in pairs around the edge of the machine to attract attention.

BTW, they have really neat green LED (halogen spot replacment) for $~10.  Be nice to never replace those again.

How often do you have to reinflate your bags?  Mine seem to flatten within a month.  Bit of a pain.

If you've been to a show and talked with Kalkomat and Punchline- wow do they ever bash each others product and look down their nose at each other.  Kalkomat is planning on offering an electronics retro kit for punchline machines due to punchlines electronic/display failures.
