The 3M25 Makvision series seems to have had a bad run of vertical IC's. Flatline with no vertical deflection. It wasn't worth having to send the entire unit back for warranty as shipping far exceeded the cost of a NTE 1869 vertical ic whick out of the last 10 of these 6 were defective and the vert ic fixed all 6.

I should add I have been moving the 2nd anode lead farther away from the yoke. They have it hot melt glued right on the yoke which made me think it could be  arcing back and blowing the vert.

Makvision 3M25 repair... clicking power supply... tested all components you'd think were candidates... turned out to be a bad 47@25 cap behind a skinny heat sink in the power supply section.. bulging top.  BE sure you note the shaded dark area under the cap is + unlike other boards or you'll be replacing the cap twice, once after it explodes!  This cap is just to the left of the 2 pin mini plug for the pic tube 2nd deguassing type coil.

Don't bother happ techs with this... "oh- that could be anything" response.
Do note that Happ has all schematics on their website under the product number in PDF.
